'How Does My Garden Grow' – 2013

"At the end of winter 2011 I was so looking forward to seeing the flowers in my garden, but I realised that I had little idea of what was going to flower when and with what else, so, I got out a file I have kept with information about when and where we have put plants into our garden over the years. I wondered how many of them still continued to thrive in our loved but somewhat neglected acre. We are enthusiastic planters but once the plants are in they have to fend for themselves. I made the effort to record one plant from every new genus as it appeared in flower during 2012 and in some cases where time allowed I was able to represent more than one species. Where time was short I made sure to show at least one from a family"
